Tom was born and raised in Southeastern Wisconsin. He attended the University of Wisconsin – LaCrosse and graduated with honors in 1987 with a Marketing and Finance Degree. Upon graduation, he took a job with the Minnesota Mutual Life Insurance Company who subsequently transferred him to their San Francisco Regional Office. He worked in their Group Life Insurance Division for 5 years before taking a sales position with Don Ramatici Insurance, Inc. in 1992. He became a minority partner in the firm in 2000 and increased his ownership stake again in 2006. In his current position of Senior Vice President, he directly oversees all aspects of the Sales and Marketing side of the business.
Community involvement has included a 5-year stint on the Board of Directors for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Sonoma County, in addition to serving as President for an additional 3 years. He has also served on the Board of Directors for the Petaluma Chamber of Commerce for 7 years, including serving a year as President. Currently, he and his wife serve as Directors of Royal Family Kids Camp, which serves foster care children in Sonoma County.
Tom and his wife Donna of 35 years met in college in Wisconsin and have resided in Petaluma for their entire marriage. In his spare time, he enjoys a variety of outdoor activities including hiking, skiing, scuba diving and target shooting, as well as being an avid follower of the Green Bay Packers.
